VwK POLL
Ok, so I noticed that VwK is a pretty significant skill. People love to farm with it, even I do, but I fear a change is coming, and I'm thinking of how it should be changed. But I want to know what the majority thinks. I'm thinking it could use a Change. For

35 Recharge
2 Casting Time
"For 10...20 seconds, each time you take damage, 33% is dealed back to the enemy who hit you, and you gain half of that damage in health." (Attribute: Restoration)
Ok, so I realize it isn't the best, but it's the best I can think of.

You don't want it? Don't use the skill. It's ONLY use is for farming. At least I see Shadowform a little in AB.

He's not saying that he doesn't want it. He confessed to using it for farming. But he fears its about to be hit by the nerf stick, and instead of absolutely killing it, like nerfs seem to do. He's proposing to weaken it, opposed to killing it and therefore becomming a useless skill.
I think the cast time should be 1sec, but the recharge should be changed to 35seconds or whatever you suggested.
And perhaps reduce health steal.
but thats not much of a weaken really, it would just slow the farmers down. I don't have a rit farmer, but i used this skill to W/RT the UW for a bit. The 35s recharge would kill me when i feel like aggroing alot of smites at one time. But wouldn't affect the 330 rts i suppose.
Your idea is ok, but it reminds me of retribution too much i think :s Although no energy loss, slight self heal....Ohhh i don't know, i like it the way it is xD
Im not sure if this skill is the same for PVP, but the 2sec cast should be for pvp, just so the dshot rangers can stop any use of this skill in pvp

I say it gets nerfed to hell. RoJ too. And soul reaping should also get nerfed to uselessness. Shadow form needs it too.
Hell, everything people actually use should be nerfed until they've chased off every casual player, and all that's left are those few hundred "hardcore" gamers, that tiny but overly vocal minority that cry out for these changes in the first place.
That'll teach 'em.

VwK isn't a really significant skill except for some specific farming builds.
There are other builds that seem more problematic.
If A-net decides to nerf something they should nerf something else: the ability to tank foes (oh wait, they reverted that change in NM with the introduction of loot scaling).
I see no direct reason why A-net should nerf VwK. It's not a problem in PvP, it's not causing inbalance in PvE team builds and it's not a really fast way of farming most of the time.
When you want to talk about a significant skill in PvE, let's talk about Protective Spirit. It's part of all monk farming builds, part of the Rt/Mo Vwk 330 build and rather dominant in high end 'non speed clear' endgame and Hard Mode content.

I wish it could be upkept, that's my only problem. Even with serpent's quickness and dwarven stability there's still 2 seconds where you're vulnerable (And I don't particularly want to be a ranger just for the quicker recharge time) and it would be great if we could constantly maintain it with a buff to spawning power - maybe a skill that could increase item spell's time? Then it would be perfect. 9 seconds is too long to wait for it to recharge in my opinion.

While I'm all for nerfing overpowered degenerate skills, this one despite some powerful solofarming builds would be pretty far on the list. There are much more important skills to fix first, I don't think this one is causing any real problems by itself.

Really, VwK is just fairly minor farming gimmick that has long been out of spotlight. Nerfing it would be pointless and quite dumb even by anets standart.

How do you know for sure it's going to get a nerf? It's fine as is. In the case of me being wrong though, all that would really need to be done is increase cost/casting time.

Let's take away Ritualists' only farming builds. Yeah, that'll show those dumbasses, trying to play Guild Wars! We'll make them play a real class like RoJ Monk or SF Assassin or SY Paragon!
